I’m Joyce! Having recently moved to Albuquerque, I’m looking forward to exploring this fun city and working with students of all ages and levels who are interested in learning the violin or viola. I have a DMA (Doctor of Musical Arts) in viola performance from Boston University and have been studying music for over 20 years. I have 10 years of experience teaching violin and viola. I was born in Taipei, Taiwan, and speak both English and Mandarin fluently. I can’t wait to share my love of music with you!
I have performed in many solo, chamber, and orchestra concerts at several major venues, including Boston Symphony Hall, Jordan Hall, The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, and the National Concert Hall in Taiwan. I am also scheduled to play in Carnegie Hall in the Winter of 2022. During my education, I was also a top prize winner at the Duxbury Music Festival solo and chamber music competitions in 2017 and a first prize winner at the American Protégé International Competition in 2021.
After graduating from National Taiwan Normal University with a Bachelors of Fine Arts, I came to Boston University to study with Professor Michelle LaCourse. I received my Masters in Viola Performance in 2019 and my Doctorate of Musical Arts in 2022.
